RVNL posts strong Q1 numbers, but shares fall sharply
Mumbai/IBNS: Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) declined on Thursday despite the company reporting a sharp rise in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of FY2027, media reports said.
The RVNL stock was trading at around ₹229.47 per share during the opening hours of trade.
Net profit rises 18.7%
RVNL reported a consolidated net profit of ₹159.52 crore for the June quarter (Q1 FY27), up 18.7 per cent from ₹134.36 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
Revenue grows 10.6%
The company's revenue from operations increased 10.6 per cent year-on-year to ₹4,321.23 crore, compared with ₹3,908.77 crore in Q1 FY26.
RVNL's total income stood at ₹4,462.29 crore during the quarter.
Profit before tax, EPS improve
The company's profit before tax rose to ₹223.54 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹173.41 crore a year earlier.
Its earnings per share (EPS) also increased to ₹0.76, compared with ₹0.65 in the year-ago quarter.
EBITDA more than doubles
RVNL's EBITDA more than doubled year-on-year to around ₹185 crore, indicating an improvement in operating profitability during the quarter.
Despite the stronger financial performance, RVNL shares remained under pressure during early trading on Thursday.
