New Delhi: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will embark on an official visit to Berlin, Germany, on October 23 for a series of high-level engagements aimed at deepening economic and business cooperation between the two countries.
Goyal will be a keynote speaker at the third Berlin Global Dialogue (BGD), an annual summit that convenes global leaders from business, government, and academia to discuss key trends shaping the world economy.
During his visit, the minister will hold one-on-one meetings with top executives from leading German firms, including Schaeffler Group, Renk Vehicle Mobility Solutions, Herrenknecht AG, Infineon Technologies AG, Enertrag SE, and Mercedes-Benz Group AG.
He will also chair a roundtable with CEOs of Germany’s Mittelstand companies and meet representatives from the Federation of German Industries (BDI) and the Asia-Pacific Association of German Business (APA).
These interactions are expected to create opportunities for collaboration, investment, and the strengthening of business-to-business partnerships, particularly in areas of sustainability, innovation, and advanced manufacturing.
Goyal’s agenda includes high-level bilateral meetings with Katherina Reiche, Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, and Dr. Levin Holle, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor at the Federal Chancellery and Germany’s G7 and G20 Sherpa.
The discussions will focus on enhancing the Indo–German economic partnership and identifying new areas for trade and investment cooperation.
In addition, Goyal will meet Xavier Bettel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Luxembourg, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade relations, Luxembourg’s upcoming state visit to India, and other regional and global developments.
