NRC should be reviewed and to be done again: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said updating National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state should be reviewed and done again.

“We said earlier and a again want to repeat that the NRC should be reviewed and done afresh. Our discussion with the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) is going on and we want the old NRC should be reviewed. We want the NRC to be done again” Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

The updated list of NRC was published in August 2019 and over 19.06 lakh people out of 3.3 crore applicants were left out from the list.
