Key Indian benchmarks end lower on Friday

Mumbai, Jun 1 (IBNS): The Indian market closed in negative territory on Friday with BSE Sensex down 95.12 points at 35,227.26 while NSE Nifty down 40 points at 10,696.20.

Overall, banking & financials, FMCG and technology stocks put in a disappointing performance, market reports said.

Among other things, the market appeared cautious ahead of the monetary policy committee meeting next week.

Some of the key stocks that posted gain on Friday were Bajaj Auto, Maruti Suzuki, Bharti Airtel, Hero Motocorp, Tata Motors and Hindalco while Eicher Motors, GAIL, M&M, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, ONGC,NTPC and Tata Steel were some of the key stocks that posted a loss.
