Mumbai/UNI/IBNS: The Rupee on Tuesday gained five paise to close at 76.90 against the US Dollar due to the selling of US Dollars by bankers and exporters, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

The local unit that surged by 21 paise at 76.74 in early trade, later it was slipped and finished at 76.90, only five paise gained as compared to its previous close.

The Rupee unit registered days high and low at 76.70 and 76.87 respectively against the US Dollar, the dealer added.
