Indian market: Sensex gains 195.45 pts

Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Wednesday added another gains of 195.45 pts to close at 63,523.15 on renewed buying in Utilities, Power, Financial services and Telecommunications stocks.

The Nifty too moved up 40.15 pts at 18,856.85 pts.

The day opened on a weak note at 63,467.46, fell 120 pts.

It was lost further 272 pts at 58,315.62, days low.

Later, it erased earlier losses and closed at 63,523.15, up 195.45 pts from its previous close.

The stocks include, Utilities went up by 1.19 pc followed by Power by 1.08 pc, Telecommunications by 0.81 pc and Financial services by 0.60 pc.

In scrips, Powergrid a major gainer rose by 3.70 pc to Rs 258.15 followed by HDFC by 1.70 pc to

Rs 2703, HDFC Bank by 1.69 pc to Rs 1635.50, Tech Mahindra by 1.16 pc to Rs 1120 and TCS

by 0.89 pc to Rs 3256

The losers were M& M by 1.30 pc to Rs 1377.90, ITC by 1.08 pc to Rs 448 Hind Unilever by 0.97 pc to Rs 1285.50 and Axis Bank by 0.83 pc to Rs 966.35.

The Mid cap increased by 0.68 pc and Small cap by 0.24 pc.

In 30 scrips, 14 advanced while 16 declined.
