India, France ink pact on railway modernisation

New Delhi, June 10 (UNI): India and France on Monday signed an agreement to support India’s modernisation of railways stations.

The tripartite agreement was signed between Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation, French Development agency AFD & SNCF for technical assistance and cooperation.

French Minister of state for Europe & foreign affairs Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne met Railways Minister Piyush Goyal and discussed about the future of this cooperation.

The visiting minister also met Urban Affairs and Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Both the ministers had "extended discussions on several areas of ongoing and future cooperation between our two countries pertaining to urban affairs, civil aviation, commerce and industry."

Earlier Lemoyne met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and had "productive exchange of views" on global issues.
