Fuel prices continue to rise; petrol prices inching towards Rs. 90/litre in Mumbai

New Delhi, Sept 11 (IBNS): Giving no respite to common people, fuel prices continued to rise even on Tuesday.

The petrol prices are Rs. 88.26/litre in Mumbai, Rs. 84.07/litre in Chennai, Rs. 83.75/litre in Kolkata and Rs. 80.87/litre in New Delhi.

Diesel prices are Rs. 77.47/litre in Mumbai, Rs. 77.15/litre in Chennai, Rs. 75.82/litre in Kolkata and Rs. 72.97/litre in New Delhi.

On Monday, the Andhra Pradesh government announced a reduction of fuel prices by Rs. 2/litre.

Prior to Andhra Pradesh, the Rajasthan government had reduced 4% Value-added Tax (VAT) to reduce the fuel prices by Rs. 2.5/litre.
