Fish production has increased by 26% in the last 4 years: Radha Mohan Singh

Kolkata, Nov 16 (IBNS): The Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister, Radha Mohan Singh has said, under the able leadership of our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, fish production in many States has reached close to sufficiency.

He was present in the training programme on "Inland Fisheries Management" organized at Centre Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore, Kolkata, for the officers and skill development training institutes for the youths.

The Minister reiterated that, fish production has increased by 26% in the last four years.

Apart from this, exports of marine products of fisheries too have increased by 95% he added. The Minister said, fisheries are playing an important role in doubling the income of farmers.

It is to be mentioned that World Fisheries Day will be organized this year in Patna, Bihar on November 22. It was organized in Delhi for the last four years.
