New Delhi, July 23 (IBNS): As the menace of pollution again rears its head in the capital, the city’s trusted public transportation system, Delhi Transport Corporation has joined hands with Okinawa Scooters to spread awareness about ‘Green Mobility.’ In its role, Okinawa Scooters,

India’s fastest growing electric two-wheeler manufacturing company, will promote e-vehicle culture among DTC’s employees and encourage them to use electric vehicles by hosting an awareness campaign across all DTC depots. It will also showcase its e-vehicle product offerings across 45 depots of DTC in Delhi. This activities will be completed by September 2018.

Speaking about the association, DTC Managing Director (IAS) – Manoj Kumar,“ The concern for environmental well-being has become paramount in India and for the first time, we have seen governments, both central and state, taking an active and urgent part in improving the deteriorating condition of the nature around us. DTC has also decided to play its role in helping the capital become a cleaner and greener place by associating with Okinawa Scooters and giving it a mandate to facilitate green transportation for DTC staff’s internal commuting purposes.”

Jeetender Sharma, Managing Director, Okinawa Autotech said, “It gives us great honour to associate with the well-recognized public bodies of the capital - Delhi Transport Corporation. The need to turn a new leaf, and a green one, in our transportation behavior is essential due to the worsening climatic conditions. Okinawa Scooters’ products have been able to make an impression in the e-vehicle thanks to their power and performance which can give any conventional fuel run vehicle in their category a run for their money. Through this association, we would like to generate more awareness about the benefits of e-vehicles to the masses, help DTC’s employees adopt green mobility and inform the users about different e-scooter options offered by Okinawa scooters.’

Recently, Okinawa scooters’ e-scooter Praise completed a difficult 1350 km to the mountainous regions of Leh from Gurugram, giving further testament to its power and endurance. With this recent collaboration, Delhi’s commuters have a chance to explore Praise, as well as other offerings of Okinawa scooters and kick-start their green mobility transformation.
