Kolkata/IBNS:  Sushil Mohta, president of Credai West Bengal, recently said that the organisation has urged its members to refrain from using imported Chinese goods in the construction sector they serve in the wake of the Indo-China border crisis and use locally manufactured products instead.

The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India (better known by its acronym Credai) is the apex body for private real estate developers in the country.

Credai West Bengal, represents Credai Bengal, Credai Howrah-Hooghly and Credai North Bengal.

Mohta said that the organisation has appealed to its 400 odd members in the state to use Indian products and also requested all the 250 allied industries which are linked to the real estate sector to manufacture these products locally or source them from countries like Korea and Japan till such time India is self-sufficient in these products.

According to a release by Credai West Bengal, due to COVID 19 pandemic, there has been a disruption in supply chain emanating from China which has led to delay in completion of projects but local production and purchase will lead to reduced procurement time, minimal loss of production hours and increased employment opportunities.
