BSE Sensex drops as exit poll favours AAP in Delhi

Mumbai, Feb 9 (IBNS): Amid exit polls predictions that indicated Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s win in the Delhi Assembly polls, The BSE Sensex and Nifty opened one percent lower on Monday.

Sources said that Indian stock markets fell for six straight days in the run up to the elections.

As of 9.30 am, the Sensex traded 254 points lower at 28,464 while the Nifty traded 73 points lower at 8,588.

According to reports, all sectoral indices traded in the red and on the Nifty 41 of the 50 shares traded lower.

Votes for the Delhi Assembly election will be counted on Tuesday.
