Ohio, Aug 4 (IBNS): Hours after the mass shooting at El Paso Walmart shopping mall in the U.S. state of Texas, nine people are dead in another shooting incident in Dayton, Ohio, reports said.

This is the second such shooting in the US in less than a day's time, which left 16 others injured.

The suspect, though not identified yet, has been shot and killed by responding officers.

No officers were injured in the confrontation.

Earlier, the mass shooting in Texas on Saturday killed at least 20 and injured 26 others.

Governor Greg Abbott termed the shooting in the Texas border city as 'one of the most deadly days in the history of Texas'.

The suspect, who was identified as Patrick Crusius from Allen Texas, a suburb of Dallas more than 650 miles away, now in custody, according to Texas Police Chief Greg Allen.

According to local media reports, the FBI has opened a domestic terror investigation into the mass shooting.

According to the authorities, the store was packed with as many as 3,000 people caused by a busy back-to-school shopping season when the shooting began.
