Punjabi Devils founder busted: Stockton Gang leader pleads guilty in US in machine gun case
Jashanpreet Singh, founder and leader of the Punjabi Devils Motorcycle Club, has pleaded guilty in a U.S. federal court to unlawfully dealing in firearms and possessing a machine gun.
According to a statement issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, Singh attempted on June 6, 2025, to sell multiple weapons to an undercover officer. The weapons included a short-barreled rifle, three assault-style firearms, three machine gun conversion devices, and a revolver.
A subsequent search of Singh’s residence uncovered additional firearms, including a machine gun, another machine gun conversion device, and a silencer.
Law enforcement officers also recovered a “pineapple”-style capped and fused hand grenade and what appeared to be a military electronic capped “claymore” mine. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Team safely destroyed the explosive devices at the scene.
Singh initially faced related state charges in San Joaquin County. After failing to appear in court on July 21, 2025, a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Two days later, U.S. Customs and Border Protection alerted the FBI that Singh had booked a ticket to India and was scheduled to depart from San Francisco International Airport on July 26, 2025. Authorities arrested him at the airport before he could leave the country. He remains in federal custody.
The case is the result of a multi-agency investigation involving the FBI; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF); Homeland Security Investigations; Enforcement and Removal Operations; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; and several California law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alex Cárdenas and Adrian Kinsella are prosecuting the case.
Singh is scheduled to be sentenced on May 11, 2026, by U.S. District Judge Dale A. Drozd. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine for unlawfully dealing in firearms, and up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for unlawful possession of a machine gun. The final sentence will be determined by the court after considering statutory factors and the federal Sentencing Guidelines.
The prosecution is part of “Operation Take Back America,” a nationwide Department of Justice initiative targeting illegal firearms trafficking, transnational criminal organizations, and violent crime.
