Peshawar, Pakistan: Residents of Pakistan's Mamond tehsil region on Sunday staged demonstration demanding early restoration of the internet service, which has been suspended across most parts of Bajaur district for over two months due to security reasons, media reports said.

Scores of people, including political and social activists, youths and traders, participated in the demonstration held in the main Laghari Bazaar, reports The Dawn.

Demonstrators were seen holding placards inscribed with slogans condemning suspension of internet service.

PTI local leader Najeeb Khan, Zakir Khan and others addressed the demonstrators and said the suspension of internet service had disrupted communication between the local residents and their relatives outside of the district and abroad, reports The Dawn.

They said unavailability of internet facilities in the region in the modern era for the last two months was a matter of serious concern for them.
