Pakistan avalanche: US condoles loss of lives

Islamabad, Feb 5 (IBNS): The US on Sunday condoled the loss of lives in the avalanche tragedy which hit Pakistan to kill 15 people.

"Our deepest condolences to the families of the #Chitral avalanche victims. We commend the brave efforts of the rescue teams. #AmbHale," US Embassy Islamabad ‏ tweeted.

An avalanche hit different villages of the Chitral district of Pakistan on Sunday which left at least 15 people killed, media reports said.

Commandant Chitral Scouts Col Nizamuddin Shah informed Geo News that bodies of 14 people were taken out from the rubble in Sher Shal village, where an avalanche buried at least 10 houses.

According to reports, 12 peolpe have been recused so far.
