ISIS claims responsibility for Egypt attack,SITE claims

New York, Apr 19 (IBNS): Militant group Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack near St. Catherine’s Monastery in south Sinai of Egypt, media reports said.

US terrorist-tracking organisation SITE reports said on its website: "The Islamic State’s (IS) ‘Amaq News Agency reported that the group is responsible for the attack near St. Catherine’s Monastery in south Sinai."

Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi has declared a state of emergency in the country following attacks on Coptic Christians on Sunday, reports said.

The attacks, which took place on two Coptic churches in Tanta and Alexandria, killed at least 44 people, the BBC reported.
