New York, Jan 29 (IBNS): Hundreds of people assembled at the John F Kennedy International Airport in New York on Saturday late night to protest against US President Donald Trump's ban on refugees, media reports said.

US President Donald Trump issued an order barring migrants and refugees from several Muslim countries.

Soon after the order, several refugees arriving in the US have been held up at airports across the country.

Trump's former presidential rival Hillary Clinton tweeted: "I stand with the people gathered across the country tonight defending our values & our Constitution. This is not who we are."

Reacting on the developments, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted: "What's happening at JFK is shameful. @NYCImmigrants Affairs Commissioner Nisha Agarwal is on the ground now working to help."
