Harvey now calls 'Merry Easter' on Christmas

Los Angeles, Dec 26 (IBNS) Making a mistake while announcing the winner of the Miss Universe contest had brought Steve Harvey in the mid of global headlines as TV host and comedian made fun of the embarrassment by wishing his fans "Merry Easter" on Christmas.

"Merry Easter y'all!" he tweeted.

Hosts of the Miss Universe contest had apologized for a mistake by the anchor during a love broadcast when Miss Colombia was initially announced as the winner of the title on Sunday.

While Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach had won the title, the anchor had initially named Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner.

Anchor Steve Harvey apologized and named the actual winner when Miss Columbia was already wearing the victorious crown on her head.

Harvey apologized for his 'mistake' and tweeted: "I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible."

He said: "Secondly, I'd like to apologize to the viewers at that I disappointed as well. Again it was an honest mistake."

Netizens responded to the situation as #MissUniverse2015 and even #SteveHarvey became Twitter's biggest trend on Sunday.
