Paris, Sep 3 (IBNS): At least 15 people have sustained injuries in north-east France after being struck directly by lightning, reports said.

Two out of the 15 are said to be in a critical condition.

The incident took place near the town of Azerailles.

It happened during the Vieux Canal festival.

Officials were quoted in the media as saying that the victims suffered burns, who received first aid at the spot before being moved to a nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, the incident also prompted the festival organisers to cancel the remainder of the gig.
