Washington/IBNS: Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswamy "would be very good" as the country's Vice President, says former US President Donald Trump who is competing with other Republican candidates to run for the top post in 2024.

In an interview, Trump said as quoted by NDTV, "He (Vivek Ramaswamy) is a very, very, very intelligent person. He's got good energy, and he could be some form of something."

When asked whether he would consider Ramaswamy, a 38-year-old biotech entrepreneur as his deputy, as the Vice President, Trump said, "I tell you, I think he'd be very good."

Earlier, Elon Musk had praised Ramaswamy as 'very promising'.

"He is a very promising candidate," Musk had said on X.

Born in 1985, Vivek Ramaswamy is an American pharmaceutical executive, hedge fund manager, lobbyist, and entrepreneur.

In the American political scenario, Ramaswamy is seen as a rising star in the campaign following a strong performance at last week's Republican debate.

He has been portraying himself as an outsider who is willing to develop former US President Donald Trump's "America First" agenda.

US voters will exercise their rights on November 5, 2024 to elect a new President.
