The railway has decided to recruit fresh legs as only few workers are going to return from the idle period than what was expected.

The CN railway is planning to hire 600 conductors and crews in the next month.

Around 250 people might be hired by the railway in the last quarter of the ongoing year, and another 400 workers in the first quarter of 2018.

The CN Railways has witnessed that the speed of the trains have dropped because of the lack of people.

Chief Operating Officer, Mike Cory, said: "Operating crews have proven to be our biggest challenge."

Cory said that it would be possible for the railways to increase trains and also profit with a limited workforce.

The areas where the hiring would be maximum include Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia.

CN Rail, in 2016, stated they had a drop in the workforce by nine percent which correspondents to 2,300 people in 2015.

The railway has also said they will invest $100 dollar in the infrastructure and equipment.
