Ottawa/IBNS:  Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has tested positive for COVID-19, reports said on Monday.

Trudeau said that one of his children tested positive for the virus last week, and so he began a period of self-isolation.

"This morning, I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m feeling fine – and I’ll continue to work remotely this week while following public health guidelines. Everyone, please get vaccinated and get boosted," he wrote on Twitter.

The prime minister and his family were moved from their residence, Rideau Cottage, over the weekend as a convoy of truckers and other anti-vaccine-mandate protesters converged on Parliament Hill to oppose the federal government's pandemic restrictions.
