Canada to process Express Entry applications within 6 months

| @indiablooms | May 20, 2022, at 08:31 pm

Ottawa: Canada has said it will expedite the processing of Express Entry applications, confirming that most new applications will be processed within six months, media reports said.

This will begin after IRCC resumes Express Entry invitations to Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Canadian experience class (CEC), and Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) candidates in early July, according to an ET report.

Over 800,000 job vacancies have been reported as immigration services were hit by Covid-19 restrictions with many having to wait for almost two years for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to finalize their permanent residence applications.

Canada's immigration backlog grew beyond 2.1 million across all lines of business in April, according to data shared by the Canadian government.
