Canada: Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Vishwa Hindi Divas celebrated in Toronto

Toronto, Jan 12 (IBNS): The Consulate General of India, Toronto celebrated “Pravasi Bharatiya Divas” and “Vishwa Hindi Divas” (World Hindi Day) at the Consulate on Wednesday.

Both the events were organized as a part of efforts by the Consulate to strengthen the bonds with the Indian diaspora and further promote interest in the Hindi language especially among children living in the Greater Toronto Area.

On this occasion, several children presented Hindi Bhajans at a lively programme.

About a dozen eminent Hindi writers residing in the GTA recited poems and songs.

In his address, Consul General Dinesh Bhatia, acknowledged the support of the Indian community living in the city in orgranising the Vishwa Hindi Diwas.

All organizations promoting Hindi were requested to work together to make it a big success.

The Consul General distributed mementos to all the participants of the event.
