British terror attack: Eight arrested

London, Mar 23 (IBNS): The police on Thursday said eight people have been arrested in connection with the terror attack which hit London on Wednesday.

"We have now made a total of eight arrests as part of the ongoing Counter Terrorism operation #WestminsterAttack," Metropolitan Police tweeted.

 
Police revised the death toll from Wednesday's incident down from five to four, including the attacker.

While police constable Keith Palmer was stabbed to death by the unidentified attacker, who police believe acted alone, a woman  in her 40s and a man in his 50s where mown down as the terrorist sped across Westminster Bridge in his car.

The attacker was shot dead by the police.

A total of 29 people were treated in hospital following the carnage, with seven people remaining in a critical condition on Thursday morning.
