Barack Obama becomes 'Santa Claus' for kids in Washington DC

Washington, Dec 23 (IBNS): Former US President Barack Obama had literally turned 'Santa Claus' for children in Washington DC, the capital city of the country.

Obama had recently visited Children’s National Hospital in Washington and he played the perfect Santa for the young patients there.

In a video uploaded by Obama himself on social media, the 44th US President is seen surprising several children with gifts in the hospital, ahead of Christmas and New Year.

The former President captioned the video saying, "There’s no better time than the holiday season to give back to your community and spread some holiday cheer. Yesterday I got to do just that at Children’s National Hospital in DC.

"As we celebrate the season and look forward to the New Year, let’s recommit to doing our part to build a world that is a little more generous, tolerant, and kind."

Obama, who has been succeeded by Donald Trump, served the nation as the President from 2009-2017.

The 57-year old leader lives in Washington even after the end of his presidential tenure.
