Australia: 4 killed on theme park ride

Sydney, Oct 25 (IBNS): At least four people were killed on a ride at a theme park in Australia on Tuesday, media report said.

The mishap occurred at  Dreamworld.

"Two men and two women died at Dreamworld when the family favourite Thunder River Rapids ride apparently malfunctioned on Tuesday afternoon," The Australian reported.

Officials have started investigating the exact cause of the mishap.

Meanwhile, Dreamworld mourned the loss of lives in the mishap and announced that the organization will remain closed until further notice.

"We are deeply shocked and saddened by today’s accident; our hearts and thoughts go to the families involved and their loved ones," Dreamworld tweeted.

"Dreamworld is currently closed until further notice due to an incident at the park," read another tweet.
