193 people die as three rivers overflow in Columbia
Columbia, Apr 2 (IBNS): At least 193 people died as an avalanche of water from three overflowing rivers flooded a small city in Colombia in the US, media reports said.
The incident happened while people were in sleep, destroying their homes and cars.
According to reports, the flood has been triggered by sudden, heavy rainstorm happened around midnight Friday and into early Saturday in Mocoa, near Colombia’s southern border with Ecuador.
Several trees have also been toppled as mudwater surged through the streets of the city.
