Pilot falls ill mid-air: IndiGo Doha-Bengaluru flight diverted to Muscat
Bengaluru/IBNS: An IndiGo flight travelling from Doha to Bengaluru was diverted to Muscat on Thursday after the pilot felt unwell and sought medical assistance, media reports said.
Flight diverted to Muscat
IndiGo flight 6E 1302 was safely diverted to Muscat, the capital of Oman, after the pilot required medical attention.
The pilot was subsequently taken to a hospital and is now reported to be fine.
Alternate flight arranged for passengers
The airline has arranged an alternate flight to carry the passengers from Doha to Bengaluru.
Meanwhile, passengers at Muscat were provided refreshments and kept updated with necessary information while arrangements were being made for their onward journey.
IndiGo issues statement
IndiGo apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers and reiterated that safety remains its top priority.
The airline's statement, quoted by NDTV, said: “We regret the inconvenience caused to our customers and are making all efforts to minimise it, including offering refreshments and timely updates as they wait for the aircraft at Muscat. The safety of our customers, crew, and aircraft remains our top priority at IndiGo.”
