2017 Amarnath Yatra begins on Wednesday, security arrangements tightened to foil terrorist attacks

Jammu/New Delhi, Jun 27 (IBNS): The first batch of pilgrims for the annual Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir will start from Jammu on Wednesday, according to media reports.

Narendra Nath Vohra, governor of J&K, was taken on an aerial survey of the Yatra route, media reports said.

Special DG, CRPF, SN Srivastva also visited Amarnath Pilgrimage base camp at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, for reviewing the security situation.

Security has been tightened all along the Yatra route and precautionary measure taken to prevent terrorist attack on the pilgrims and other visitors.
