Williams sister reach quarter finals

Melbourne, Jan 26 (IBNS): The Williams sister have reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open women's singles event here on Monday.

Venus defeated Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3 2-6 6-1. The match lasted for for 125 minutes.

On the other hand, sister Serena Williams beat Garbine Muguruza 2-6 6-3 6-2 to move to the next round.

If they both win their respective next round games then they will meet in the semi-final of the first grand slam of the year.

In the men's singles event, Serbian star Novak Djokovic defeated Gilles Muller 6-4, 7-5, 7-5 to reach the next round.

Novak had to give some amount of fight to win the match.


He will face Milos Raonic of Canada in the quarter finals.
