Mumbai, Sept 17 (IBNS): Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday.

Tendulkar tweeted to wish the PM: "Sending best wishes and many happy returns of the day to our honourable PM @narendramodi ji. Happy Birthday, Sir!."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday celebrated his 67th birthday by dedicating Sardar Sarovar Dam - the world's second largest - on the river Narmada in Gujarat, to the nation.

Before inaugurating the dam, he started his day by seeking blessings from his mother.

The Sardar Sarovar Dam, whose foundation stone was laid six decades ago, was launched on Modi's 67th birthday.

Modi also reviewed the construction of the 'Statue of Unity', a tribute to Sardar Patel in Gujarat.
