Rio: Novak Djokovic defeated in first round

Rio de Janeiro, Aug 8 (IBNS) Serbian Tennis star Novak Djokovic suffered a jolt as he crashed out off the Olympics men's singles Tennis event after being defeated by Juan Martin del Potro on Sunday.

Djokovic was defeated in the first round match by his opponent  7-6 (7-4) 7-6 (7-2).

The Serbian, who is currently the world number on, also suffered surprise early exit from Wimbledon this year.

Martin del Potro had clinched bronze at London Olympics.

Andy and Jamie Murray also lost their first round doubles clash against Brazilian pair Thomaz Bellucci and Andre Sa.
