PM Modi meets athletes contingent for Rio Olympics

New Delhi, Jul 4 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monda, met over 60 athletes who will be part of India’s contingent at the Rio Olympic Games.
The Prime Minister met each athlete individually and interacted with them. He encouraged the athletes to perform to the best of their ability in the world’s biggest sporting arena. 
 
Several former Olympians including MC Mary Kom, Anju Bobby George and P. Gopichand also attended the programme. 
 
Over 100 Indian athletes from 13 different disciplines have qualified for the Rio Olympics. 
 
The Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Jitendra Singh was also present on the occasion.
