New Zealand thrash Bangladesh by 75 runs

Kolkata, Mar 26 (IBNS) New Zealand moved to the semi-finals of the ICC World T20 by winning all the four group stage matches and on Saturday put up a strong show in beating Bangladesh by 75 runs here.

Posting 145 runs for the loss of eight wickets, New Zealand bowlers bowled out Bangladesh for 70 runs in 15.4 overs.

Shuvagata Hom (16*), Sabbir Rahman (12) and Mohammad Mithun (11) remained the only batsmen for the Asian side to reach double-figure mark.

Grant Elliott and Ish Sodhi picked up three wickets each for New Zealand.

New Zealand posted 145 for the loss of eight wickets in an ICC World T20 match against Bangladesh here on Saturday.

Kane Williamson top scored for the side with his 42 runs off 32 balls. He hammered five boundaries and a six.

Mustafizur Rahman shined with the ball and took five wickets by giving away 22 runs in his five overs.
 
New Zealand has already qualified for the semi-final.

Bangladesh has already crashed out of the tournament.

The Asian side will need to score 146 runs in their 20 overs.
