IPL 2023: KKR celebrate homecoming after three years

Kolkata/UNI: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are all set to play their first home game at the iconic Eden Gardens on Thursday after a span of three years.

To celebrate this momentous occasion with fans across the city of joy, KKR launched the “Homecoming’ campaign with the call out “Bari Phirchi Ebar, Ami KKR” (We are coming back home, we are KKR).

As a part of the campaign, the iconic structures of Kolkata, have been illuminated in the team's signature colour, purple. The front facade of Eden Gardens and the inside of the stadium will be lit up with purple lights, making it an unforgettable experience for the fans.

The majestic Howrah Bridge, one of the city's iconic landmarks and Park Street, the food and entertainment hub of the city, has turned purple with activations across the length and breadth of it.

Speaking about the ‘Homecoming’ campaign, Venky Mysore, CEO Knight Riders Group, said, "The ‘Homecoming’ campaign was conceived to mark the celebration and coming together of KKR and their fans. It is our way of appreciating the love and the warm welcome we have received upon our return to the city of joy."

'The support of our fans has been incredible throughout the years and we cannot thank them enough. Ahead of our first home game at Eden Gardens in three years, there is an infectious energy and excitement amongst all of us and we look forward to a great season," he said.

KKR has launched activations across prominent malls, hoardings, metro and bus branding, flyover pole kiosks, pillar wraps, player cut-outs, and LED billboards all over the city. The KKR mobile ticket studio and canter vans will also roam around the city for fan activations across high-footfall areas.

The excitement and enthusiasm of the fans for KKR's homecoming is palpable, and the team is all set to make it an unforgettable experience for the fans.
