Germany beat India 1-0

Bhubaneswar, Dec 6 (IBNS) In a well fought match, Germany defeated India 1-0 in the opening Pool B match of the Hero Champions Trophy here on Saturday.

Both the sides fought to create oppurtunity but they were unable to deliver and convert them into a goal.

The first half ended with none of the side scoring a goal.

PR Sreejesh  was playing exceptionally well but it was only in the last moment of the game when he created a mistake and Germany was successful in grabbing the oppurtunity and converting it to a goal.

Florian Fuchs scored the winner for Germany.

Speaking on the team performance, PR Sreejesh, player of the match, was quoted as saying by Hockey India: “Germany was a very tough match. They played very well and scored in the last moment but I appreciate my team mates who put in a full performance while our forwards made some good attacks which we couldn’t turn into a goal. In future matches, we will rectify that.”
