CLT20: KKR defeat Lahore Lions

Hyderabad, Sept 21 (IBNS) A 100-run opening stand between Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir helped Kolkata Knight Riders defeat Lahore Lions by four wickets in a Champions League T20 match here on Sunday.

Chasing Lahore's 151 for seven, Kolkata reached 153 runs by losing six wickets with three balls to spare.

Uthappa (46) and Gambhir (60) were solid at the top of the innings as they jointly added 100 runs in the first wicket stand.

Uthappa departed after 100 as put up omn the scoreboard.

Lahore aimed at returning to the game at that point as they kept taking wickets of Gambhir, Manvinder Bisla (6), Yusuf Pathan (11), Ryan ten Doeschate (12) and Andre Russell (1) quickly.

Suryakumar Yadav's unbeaten 5-ball 14, which included a boundary and a six, was enough to clinch the match.

Aizaz Cheema took two wickets for Lahore.

Earlier, Lahore posted 151 for seven on the scoreboard.

Ahmed Shehzad was the top scorer fort the side with his 59.

Sunil Narine bowled exceptionally well for KKR as he took three wickets by giving away only nine runs in his four overs.

In the other match of the day,  Hobart Hurricanes beat  Cape Cobras by six wickets.

Chasing Cape Cobras 184 for 6, Hurricanes reached 186 runs by losing only four wickets.
