Asian Games bound team beat U-17 and U-19 boys 4-0

New Delhi,July 28 (IBNS) : Asian Games bound India Senior Women’s Team, currently on a 45-day training Camp at the Cooperage Stadium in Mumbai, improved on their 3-2 win over Football Leaders Academy U-17 and U-19 Boys with a clinical 4-0 rout in another weekend friendly at the same venue.

"Goals either side of halftime from Bala Devi, Sasmita Malik, and newcomers Indumati Kathiresan and Margaret Castanha helped India to a commanding win over their opponents," read the All India Football Federation (AIFF) website on Monday.

Women’s nationals’ top scorer Bala Devi opened the scoring in the 29th minute after some good work down the right channel. The sides went into the break with the fairer sex leading by a goal to nil.

Winger Sasmita Malik got into the act 13 minutes into the second essay with a neat finish from the top of the box.

First timers Margaret and Indumati also got on the scoresheet with goals in the last quarter of the match to complete the rout.
