Alastair Cook feels Chris Woakes will impress during 1st Test against SA

Durban, Dec 25 (IBNS): England skipper Alastair Cook feels that Chris Woakes is likely to shine during the first Test against South Africa.

Cook confirmed that Woakes is going to make a debut after James Anderson was ruled out from the match due to  calf problem.

"I think anyone who's seen practice over the last 24 hours will have seen we've concentrated mainly on the 11 so it's no surprise really," Cook was quoted as saying by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) website.

"What an opportunity it is for him to play. It gives us great depth in our batting and he's been around the side for a long time and now he's got an opportunity," he said.
