In a big development for the Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Ramayana', Kannada actor Yash is now onboard as a co-producer of the mega film.

Yash, who was earlier speculated to play Ravana in the film, has joined hands with Namit Malhotra to co-produce the epic saga.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted an update on X, "BIGGG DEVELOPMENT… YASH JOINS HANDS WITH NAMIT MALHOTRA TO PRODUCE ‘RAMAYANA’… This is a groundbreaking collaboration…

"#NamitMalhotra [Prime Focus] and actor #Yash [Monster Mind Creations] have joined forces to produce the epic saga #Ramayana for #Indian and global audiences. #Yash becomes a producer on this massive project, besides being one of the main actors."

The film stars Ranbir as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and veteran actor Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

While several other casts are yet to be locked, it is certain that Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha will be parts of the film.

The film is expected to release in Diwali 2025.
