Chennai/IBNS: Actor Trisha Krishnan grabbed the media glare at the country's 80th Independence Day celebrations in Chennai on Saturday as she was spotted in the front row with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's parents.

In the videos which went viral on the internet, Trisha was seen in a gold-coloured saree and minimal jewellery triggering fresh speculation over his participation at a government event.

In a specific clip, Trisha was seen saluting while the Chief Minister passed by in a jeep in discharge of his official duties.

Accompanied by her mother, Uma Krishnan, Trisha was seated beside Vijay's parents, S.A. Chandrasekhar and Shoba Chandrasekhar.

The moment has triggered the memories of Trisha's attendance at Vijay's oath-taking ceremony in May this year as the former's presence had fuelled the speculations over their bonhomie.

Though Trisha and Vijay have often been linked due to their close friendship and popular on-screen chemistry, neither has publicly confirmed rumours about their relationship.

In a clip which was widely circulating, Trisha was seen getting emotional as Vijay took oath as Chief Minister for his inaugural term.

Trisha Krishnan and Vijay have shared one of Tamil cinema’s most loved on-screen pairings, delivering several blockbuster films together over the years.

The duo first won audiences with Ghilli, which later achieved cult status among Tamil movie lovers.

They went on to star together in Thirupaachi, Aathi and Kuruvi, strengthening their popularity as a hit pair.

After a long gap, Vijay and Trisha reunited in Leo, delighting fans across the country.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Vijay's Sangeetha Sornalingam withdrew his divorce petition in August 2026, and the Chengalpattu Family Court subsequently closed the case.
