Netflix special titled 'Vir Das: Landing' by India's popular comedian-actor Vir Das has won the International Emmy Awards 2023.

Vir Das won the award in a tie with 'Derry Girls - Season 3'.

In the Netflix show for which he won the award, Vir Das dives deep into his childhood in India, the perils of outrage and finding his feet in the world.

Reacting to the win, Vir Das posted on X, "For India For Indian Comedy. Every breath, every word. Thank you to the @iemmys for this incredible honour."

Along with Vir, actors Shefali Shah and Jim Sarbh were nominated at the Emmy Awards, which recognises the artistic and technical merit for the American and international television industry.

Vir, 44, has featured in about 35 plays and over 100 stand-up comedy shows and is considered a leading comedian of the Asian country.

His show 'Two Indias' was embroiled in a controversy after the show talked about "the duality of two very separate Indias that do different things".
