Independence Day celebrated in Kolkata
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unfurled the tricolour on Red Road (Indira Gandhi Sarani) in Kolkata on Friday (Aug 15, 20140 to celebrate the Independence Day. She received a guard of honour from the Kolkata police.The Chief Minister's Police Medal for Outstanding Service were given away during the day to Kolkata Police Commissioner Surojit Kar Purokayastha, Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and IGP Western Zone Siddhi Nath Gupta.
