Youth arrested in Tirupati for creating facebook page for paedophiles

Chennai, May 12 (IBNS) A 27-year-old man has been arrested in Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh for allegedly posting peadophilic content on Facebook.

The  cyber cell of Tamil Nadu police's crime brunch  tracked down Yadava Manikanta's IP address and arrested him from his house.

The accused had allegedly created at least four communities for paedophiles on the social networking site which contained  photos of minor girls were posted with sexually explicit comments, reports said.

One of these communities had around 3,000 followers. However, it has been removed by Facebook following numerous complaints by residents in Chennai.

Police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Efforts are also on to identify those who posted likes and comments.
