Lucknow, Dec 1 (IBNS): The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday announced a ban on all marriage ceremonies in Prayagraj during Kumbh in 2019, media reports said.

No marriage ceremonies will be allowed between January and March in 2019.

According to media reports, the decision may have been taken by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led state government for public convenience.

Lakhs of people usually turn up for 'Kumbh snaan' (bath) every year in the city.

As per the order, marriage ceremonies will not be allowed a day before and after the snaan.

The district administration has sent the order copy to all marriage hall owners asking them to cancel bookings for wedding between January and March next year.
