World Bank announces loan for solar power expansion in India
New Delhi, Jun 30 (IBNS): President of the World Bank, Dr. Jim Yong Kim, met Union Minister for Finance, Corporate Affairs and Information & Broadcasting, Arun Jaitley, on Thursday in New Delhi.
Earlier in the day, he had called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
The finance minister and the world bank president held a bi-lateral meeting on global and Indian economic situations.
Later, they along with the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal attended the signing ceremony of the agreement between International Solar Alliance and World Bank, in New Delhi on Thursday.

The International Solar Alliance (ISA), consisting of 121 countries, including India, expects to collaborate on increasing solar energy use across the world, with a goal of mobilising $1 trillion in investments by 2030, according to media reports.
