Woman quits IT sector job, now earns Rs.60,000 a month driving auto-rickshaw
A woman who spent nearly a decade working in the IT sector has gone viral after revealing that she left her corporate career to become an auto-rickshaw driver in search of a less stressful and more fulfilling life.
According to a video shared on Instagram, the woman previously worked as an IT manager for nine years but struggled with the pressure and demanding work schedule associated with her job.
Seeking a better work-life balance, she decided to leave the corporate world and start driving her own auto-rickshaw, allowing her to work on her own terms and set her own schedule.
The woman claimed that she now earns around ₹60,000 per month and is significantly happier than she was in her previous profession.
Sharing her interaction with the woman, Instagram user Dr. Nezrin Midhlaj wrote: "Today, I met a woman auto driver. Confident, well-dressed, and completely at peace with her life. When I asked her how it feels to be in a male-dominated field, her answer stayed with me."
She added: "She said she used to be an IT manager for nine years. She left it all behind—the pressure, the stress, the constant tension. Now, she drives her own auto. She earns around ₹60,000 a month. And most importantly, she said she's happy."
The woman's story resonated with many social media users, who praised her decision to prioritize peace of mind over a conventional career path.
"She wants a simple and happy life. I am happy for her and wish her all the best for the future. In the end, everyone wants peace," one user commented.
Another wrote: "It's all about being happy with what we do and not worrying about what others say."
A third user summed up the sentiment in two words: "Stress-free life."
One commenter also shared a similar story from Uttar Pradesh, claiming that a man who left his job to drive an auto-rickshaw eventually expanded his business and built a fleet of commercial vehicles.
"In Uttar Pradesh, a man left his job and started driving an auto-rickshaw. Over the past 15 years, he expanded his business and now owns five Bharat trucks. When a TV anchor asked about his bank balance, he reportedly said it was ₹5 crore. The anchor was amazed, and he still drives his auto-rickshaw," the user wrote.
The story has sparked discussions online about work-life balance, career choices, and whether professional success should be measured solely by job titles and corporate positions.
