Who is Astrologer Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel? Astrologer, who predicted Vijay’s ‘tsunami victory’, now lands in top govt role
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has appointed his personal astrologer, Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel, as Officer on Special Duty (Political) in the Chief Minister’s Office, according to media reports on Tuesday.
Vettrivel had drawn public attention after reportedly predicting years ago that Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), would secure a “tsunami victory” in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections — a forecast that ultimately proved accurate.
Confirming the appointment, an official order signed by Reeta Harish Thakkar, Principal Secretary to the Tamil Nadu government, stated as quoted by Mint: “Thiru Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel is appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister (Political) with effect from the date of joining. The terms and conditions in this regard will be issued separately."
Vijay and TVK swept the Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, unseating the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and bringing an end to the decades-long alternation of power between the DMK and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK).
Who is Rickey Radhan Pandit Vettrivel?
Vettrivel is a well-known astrologer with nearly four decades of experience in Vedic astrology, numerology, and meditation-based guidance. He is regarded as a high-profile spiritual advisor and is believed to have counselled politicians, celebrities, corporate leaders, and senior bureaucrats across the country.
He has also publicly spoken about his association with former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa, claiming he served as her spiritual mentor and had accurately predicted her landslide electoral victory in 1991, according to Moneycontrol.
According to reports, Vettrivel has played a key advisory role in Vijay’s political journey, including suggesting auspicious timings for major political milestones.
One such instance was Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony. While the event was initially scheduled for May 10 at 3:45 pm, it was later rescheduled to 10 am on Vettrivel’s advice to align with an auspicious “muhurat,” Business Today reported.
